Multiservice DWDM Platform
ONLINE Metro™ Multiservice DWDM Platform delivers industry-leading switching and aggregation services through intelligent Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) optical technology. The ONLINE Metro is designed for service providers and large enterprises requiring a variety of managed services over a regional or core metro optical infrastructure up to 640 km without optical regeneration
For the ONLINE Metro Multiservice DWDM Transport Platform
ONLINE Metro™ Service Aggregator Platform enhances the ONLINE Metro™Multiservice DWDM Transport Platform, enabling it to operate in a standalone node configuration, as a node in a ring network, or as a node in multiple ring networks. It gives service providers and enterprises the flexibility to offer their customers a variety of managed services over a single optical infrastructure. The ONLINE Metro Service Aggregator platform supports Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and direct dark fiber connectivity, and can be used to build a mesh-based architecture
For ONLINE Metro™ Multiservice DWDM Transport Platform
ONWAVE™ ESCON® Multiplexer Card offers service providers a highly scalable, cost-effective solution for remote Enterprise Systems Connection (ESCON) connectivity. Eliminating the need for costly, low-speed carrier conversions. With the ONWAVE ESCON Multiplexer, up to 12 ESCON channels are transparently multiplexed at full line-rate without the use of external hardware, and transported as an OC-48/STM-16 framed signal. Moreover, integrated tributary and line-side performance monitors allow for end-to-end management of ESCON services. This plug-in module for the ONLINE Metro™ Multiservice DWDM Transport platform enables an integrated, high-density solution to meet the customers' ESCON remote connectivity requirements. In addition, the ONWAVE ESCON Multiplexer operates over dark fiber with the ONLINE Metro™ Service Aggregator
For ONLINE Metro™ Multiservice DWDM Transport Platform
ONWAVE™ SONET/SDH Add/Drop Multiplexer (SADM) Card is a hot swappable card that provides full OC-3/STM-1 or OC-12/STM-4 support for use with the ONLINE Metro™ Multiservice DWDM Transport Platform. It grooms multiple sub-rate services onto a single OC-48/STM-16 framed wavelength and performs switching through an integrated STS-1 switch matrix
For CoreStream™ Agility Long-haul Optical Transmission System
The Select Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (OADM) is an integrated network element for CIENA's CoreStream(tm) Agility Optical Transmission System. The Select OADM provides software-configurable wavelength add/drop capability for long-haul Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) networks. With single channel add/drop granularity, the Select OADM is capable of dropping any mix of wavelengths to match different traffic demands at a given site within the network
Subscriber Service Card for the CNX-5™ Broadband DSL System
The SHDSL Symmetric Channel Unit (SCU) is a Subscriber Service Card used in the CIENA CNX-5™ Broadband DSL System; a solution designed to DSL-enable Lucent SLC® Series 5 (SLC-5) Digital Loop Carriers (DLCs). Each SCU provides two standards-compliant ports of SHDSL for delivery of symmetric DSL services to businesses and high-end residential customers
For the CN 2600™ Multiservice Edge Aggregator
SONET/SDH Add/Drop Multiplexer (SADM) Card provides full OC-3/12 or STM-1/4 support for use with the CN 2600™ Multiservice Edge Aggregator. This card grooms up to four OC-3/STM-1 or OC-12/STM-4 services onto a single OC-48/STM-16 framed wavelength. Switching is performed through an integrated STS-1/vc-3 switch matrix. The OC-48/STM-16 line side wavelength can be handed off directly to the SONET/SDH network for gateway applications, or it can be fed into sub-wavelength optical multiplexing modules on the CN 2600 platform
A Component of LightWorks ON-Center® Management Suite
Universal OSS Gateway (UOG) is a component of CIENA's LightWorks ON-Center® Management Suite that extends automation to a third party Operating Support System (OSS) via an open, standards-based interface. The UOG is CIENA's implementation of the TeleManagement Forum's (TMF) Multi-Technology Network Management (MTNM) interface standard, currently defined as TMF-814, Version 2.1. CIENA supports full network and OSS automation with embedded network intelligence, open interfaces, tools, and professional services to harness the value of data-efficient optical networking technology
